Archive of errors
(volatile material)

I have always given errors primacy within my creative process; affording them a place
of respect and contemplation. I strive to understand their anatomy and whatever they
can offer; what can be gleaned from behind that veil. The mist, changing states, what
we cannot see because it moves too fast or because it is hidden by that which
overwhelms us.
This show closely observes my compositional process; the embodied and mental
states issuing from the drastic changes of these last years.
I work with fragments that were part of other works, part of contingent or mistaken
places. Places that disappear or that do not live up to our expectations.
I think about the need to repair, to adjust, to make something work, to do the
utmost with whatever is at hand. I commune with uncertainty, doubt, and the
vulnerability provoked by change, by rapid movements, by that which has no solution.
I examine the intricate natural order of things and contrast it with the human need of
creating complexity through our brains and emotions.
From that very particular place I try to,
connect fragmented territories /
preserve the identity of each part in the whole /
discover the relationships between consciousness and experience /
render visible the chasm between perception and understanding.
Revealing the hardness of conceptual constructs and the surplus beyond these
regimes.
Embracing a temporary solution, an open hand.
The resilience of plastic and color is the lens that allows me to work with such volatile
material.

El error siempre ha tenido un espacio primordial en mi proceso. Lo contemplo desde
un lugar de respeto, tratando de entender su anatomía y lo que ofrece, lo que se puede
percibir tras de esa nube. La niebla, los estados cambiantes, lo que no podemos ver
porque se mueve muy rápido o porque está oculto en lo que nos abruma.
Esta muestra observa de cerca en mi proceso de composición, estados físicos y
mentales provocados por los cambios drásticos en los últimos años.
Trabajo con fragmentos que fueron parte de otras piezas, de lugares contingentes o
equivocados. Lugares que desaparecen o que no cumplen con la idea en nuestra
mente.
Pienso en la necesidad de reparar, de ajustar, de hacer que algo funcione, de lograr el
máximo con lo que se tiene. Me uno con la incertidumbre, a la duda, a la vulnerabilidad
del cambio, del movimiento rápido, de lo que no se soluciona.
Miro de cerca el intrincado orden natural de las cosas y lo comparo con la necesidad
humana de crear complejidad travez del pensamiento y la emoción.
Desde ese lugar intento,
conectar territorios fragmentados/
preservar la identidad de cada parte en el todo/
descubrir relaciones entre la conciencia y la experiencia/
visibilizar las brechas entre la percepción y la comprensión.
Para revelar la inflexibilidad de construcciones conceptuales y el excedente más allá
de estos regímenes.
El proceso de componer es una resolución temporera, una propuesta abierta.
La resiliencia del plástico y el color es el lente que me permite trabajar con este
material volátil.
